We are once again sponsoring one of the most exciting teams lining up on the grid for the 2018 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship (BTCC).

At the wheel of the Laser Tools Racing team’s Mercedes-Benz A-Class will be Aiden Moffat, who made history as the youngest ever BTCC driver during his first season in 2014, while the 2017 campaign proved to be his most successful yet.

The 21-year-old from Scotland recorded his first BTCC win at Donington Park and went on to achieve consistent top 10 finishes before celebrating another win in the season finale at Brands Hatch.

“We improved our Mercedes a lot during the 2017 season and in the closing rounds at Brands Hatch I had great pace and could place the car wherever I wanted,” says Aiden. “Since then we’ve been looking at the car’s aerodynamics and have made some significant bodywork modifications. I am really confident about the car and feel we’re in great shape going into the 2018 season.”

He continues: “I’d like to thank everyone who has made it happen, as without the continued support of our partners such as Smart Fleet Solutions, we wouldn’t have made so much progress last year and be in such a strong position now.”

“Watching Aiden race last year was exciting and both he and the team made significant progress,” says Theo Kortland, Managing Director of Smart Fleet Solutions. “It was great to have been a part of it and we’re delighted that we’ll again be part of this fantastic journey during the 2018 BTCC season.”

Continues Theo: “Aiden’s passion for driving and his desire to be the fastest on the track is matched by our own desire to make vehicle refurbishment as quick and easy as possible for our customers. We understand that de-fleeting isn’t about refurbishment, but about selling the vehicle – and by employing the best technicians who use the latest smart repair techniques and technology, we can reduce costs and shorten cycle times.”

This year’s Championship starts at Brands Hatch on 7 April, with subsequent rounds taking place at the UK’s most iconic race tracks including Donington Park and Silverstone, before heading back to Brands Hatch for the season finale at the end of September.
